Please Note: We need volunteers to help fill-in our timeline!  Not a lot of materials exist on this other than the memories of folks who have been here for a very long time.  You are encouraged to document your early memories of SSRC and send them to us for inclusion on this page.  Send your recollections to our Historian.

Timeline of SSRC History:

1954 - SSRC files its original charter with the State Corporation Commission.

1955 - SSRC Opens its gates for its first season.  A waiting list for membership forms.

1972 - SSRC member, Melissa Belote, wins three gold medals at the Olympic games in Munich.

1992 - SSRC rebuilds its swimming pool facilities from the ground up.

2007 - Members of SSRC join together in a heroic volunteer effort to replace the bathhouse roof.  SSRC Board of directors, with the consent of the general membership, revamps membership policies to better manage the club in changing times.  SSRC member, Mary Yarrison, wins the 1-meter title at the Speedo USA Diving Spring National Championships.

2014 - diving boards get resurfaced, pool gets a new white coat, and new covers installed on all 3 pools.
