Almost everything you see when you visit the Springfield Swimming and Racquet Club is maintained by volunteers, with the exception of the technical operation of the swimming pools themselves.  The Club is even managed by member volunteers on the SSRC Board of Directors.  But that's only the tip of the iceburg.

Volunteers also mow the grass, maintain the landscaping, prune the trees, mend the fences, replace the roof, fix the toilets, paint, perform electrical upgrades, scrub the decks, repair the deck furniture, run the Rubber Ducky Cafe, and beginning this coming 2008 season, will also be manning the Kral Shack at the front gate to keep our facility safe, check-in members and guests, and provide important information to members, guests, and potential new members.

Nothing here is possible without volunteer assistance from our members.  In fact, we are a community club, by our members, to serve our members and the community at large.  Every member is expected to give something of their time and efforts to keep us going, and to make improvements when possible.

Check back to this page often, as lists of chores and special projects that need to be done will be posted here, along with information about who to contact to make arrangements to volunteer your time, special skills, and efforts.  Volunteers are generously rewarded in many ways!

If you would like to sign up to volunteer for a known project, or have any suggestions for a new project that you would like to volunteer to organize and/or perform, please let us know!  Please e-mail us at: volunteer@swimspringfield.com
